Back in 2017, Shay had the idea to create something that give he and other writers he knew the opportunity to have their stories published in magazine format. The intention was to allow the group of aspiring authors the chance to finally see their work in print and out in the world to be shared with others, even if that group was only their local community. He called it Storyteller.

The first issue was so well received Shay was encouraged to continue publishing new issues. Over the four years to follow, 10 issues were released, each one improving in overall content and quality over the previous. During that time, he founded Three Owls Publishing, the company under which Storyteller would continue. Following a brief hiatus in 2022, Storyteller is back again with the release of the September 2023 issue of Storyteller Journal, formerly known as Storyteller.

While the mission of Three Owls Publishing begins with Storyteller Journal, it goes further with the goal of connecting with aspiring authors and helping to bring their book ideas to fruition and to bookstores across America.

This year Shay welcomes Gabriel and Josh to the fold, and they are just getting started on this journey. They hope you will come along. Whether you are a writer or not, stories breath life and light into the world we live in, and we are all the better for them.
